Dreams & Delusions…

I know you want to take me down,
You spread your lies all over town…
You think you can make me a victim
You want a fight, come get some!
There is a strength in me you will never know,
There is an angry passion that I’m not gonna show…
I’ve got a joy that you can’t shake,
I’ve got a love that you can’t take.
Go ahead and try to fuck with my happy life,
It won’t make you a lover, a mother, or a wife.

  2. I like the anger… this poem brought you closer to the ancient force of poetry. Maybe you need to find that anger more often… you other poems tend to fall back into a few clichés … you have an empowered touch and ability… like see you hone it on some of the ancient forms… like Sappho… try Mary Bernhard or Anne Carson’s translations… Sappho is still the great poet of women … and men, for those who know… 🙂

    • Thank you, I tend to be clearer in thought when angry. I appreciate the suggestions, and I will try to read more… Haha.

      • Oh, two more you might like: Sylvia Plath, Amy Clampitt… I think Plath would be a great choice for you… 🙂
